Cumbre — Spanish for summit — is specialty coffee for people whose weekends point outdoors, and the places they drink it: the trailhead, the cabin porch, the café at the base of the hill.
We started in 2018 with a simple idea: the coffee you drink outdoors should be as good as the view. Everything since has followed from that.
Our coffee
We offer 13 single-origin coffees and multiple gourmet blends sourced from 21 partner farms around the world. Each one is roasted to order in small batches — the day or the day before it ships — and packed your way. We roast to bring out what each bean already has, and we never burn it to force a “consistent” taste the way big roasters do. Different origins, roasted for what they are.
From real places, at real elevation
Coffee grown high on a mountain ripens slowly, and slow ripening is where flavor comes from. So every Cumbre origin leads with its growing elevation — the single number that tells you the most about the cup. It’s also why the name fits: every bag is a small summit.
Our impact
We think good coffee should do a little good beyond the cup. We source at fair prices from the farms our beans come from, and we give at least 1% of our sales to Pencils of Promise — a nonprofit that builds schools and brings education to communities around the world.
So far, that’s added up to $500 — modest, honestly, and we’d rather tell you the real number than a rounded-up one. It grows with every bag you buy.
Our promise
We promise fresh — roasted to order, never off a shelf. We promise real — named origins, honest elevations, notes you can actually taste. And we promise simple — ordering that fits your home, your cabin, your café, or your shop.
Our coffee is roasted by a certified partner — a member of the Specialty Coffee Association and the National Coffee Association — and we keep our overhead low and our packaging simple, so we can put the savings into better beans and the communities that grow our coffee.
